12/1/2022 0 Comments Glock 17 trigger![]() ![]() I think a cleverly ported/converted VF3 on PS2 could mimic the arcade quite well, to the point where it looks almost as good as the arcade, with a noticable, but not massive loss in graphic quality (not quanitity since PS2 could handle more polygons than Model 3 could even dream about). more polygons more lighting, and maybe better textures (DC was not being pushed with its VF3). Now, dispite what ive attempted to say above, overall, I think the PS2 could do a BETTER port of VF3 than what the Dreamcast got. not performance, because we all know PS2-Cube-Xbox totally beat Model 3 in performance (polygons lighting fillrate) but not graphics fidelity/quality. even Dreamcast, Xbox and Gamecube, which ALL have better image quality than PS2, struggle compared to Model 3 in image quality. no amount of skilled programming can overcome the difference between PS2 GS rendering capability, and the rendering capability of the twin REA元D PRO-1000 GPUs in Model 3. but image quality would be the tough thing. overall, a 60fps, 640 x 480 port of VF3 would be EASILY done on PS2 with all the lighting, easy. ![]() now since VF3 was the first Model-3 game, and using the oldest Model-3 board, im sure PS2 could handle most of texture mapping in VF3. textures are another place where PS2 would struggle. Model-3 does this automatically unlike PS2 where it requires some effort. even though PS2 could do the tri-linear filtering, i doubt it would look as good. Model-3 does tri-linear filtering be default, whereas PS2 does bilinear filtering but default. The PlayStation version is considered by some as one of the greatest games of its genre. A simplified 'arcade' version of the game was released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2 as part of Tekken 5's Arcade History mode. It was released on Arcades in March 1997, and for the PlayStation in mid-1998. polygons and lighting would not be a problem, but image fidelity and textures would. Tekken 3 (3, Tekken 3) is the third installment in the popular Tekken fighting game series. If Namco Konami or any of the best developers tried to do a port of VF3 on PS2, they could only do so much, within the limitations of the PS2 hardware. ![]()
